Cardiovascular diseases including coronary heart disease, stroke, and heart failure are by far the main causes of mortality and morbidity among people with type 2 diabetes. Even though, the existence of both diabetes and cardiovascular diseases are usually provoked by obesity and insulin resistance, a good percentage of people with cardiovascular disease are either having type 2 diabetes or pre-diabetes. Also, people with chronic kidney disease (CKD) exhibit an elevated cardiovascular risk manifesting as coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, and sudden cardiac death, although the incidence and prevalence of cardiovascular events is already significantly higher in patients with early CKD stages. There is a crucial need for multidisciplinary education and research initiatives that include the Heart, Kidney, and Diabetes in one Clinical Practice and mutual research projects. In keeping the expected attendees, the lectures, workshops, and case studies will be presented by high caliber international speakers. The accepted abstracts will be published in the journal Diabetes/Metabolism Research and Reviews (DMRR) by Wiley. This conference should be a timely reminder of the complexity of diabetes and its related disorders and the current efforts done in this domain on behalf of people with multiple cardiometabolic risks.

looking forward to welcoming you!
